Nextens achieves ISO 27001 certification

Nextens (part of LexisNexis Risk Solutions and the RELX group) has successfully achieved certification, through BSI, to ISO 27001:2022, the international information security management system (ISMS) standard.

Data Security and Privacy

With recent global threat reports for 2024 highlighting increases in leveraging stolen identity credentials, exploitation of gaps in cloud environments and significant increases in the stealth, velocity and impact of cyberattacks – information security has never been more important.

Effectively implementing a UKAS accredited ISO 27001:2022 certified ISMS, means that Nextens has an agile, holistic, risk-based approach to ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information across its organisation.

Supported by Teamwork

The ISMS certification programme was led by Nextens’ compliance partners, Teamwork IMS and has resulted in improvements to the governance framework, supply chain and risk management that will support Nextens in meeting the challenges of evolving threats and to identify, protect, detect, respond and recover from, information security events.

Juliette Goetzee, Managing Director of Nextens:

“The security of our customer data and data is paramount in everything we do. It is important that each team works according to ISO standards. This applies not only to our developers, who build secure software in which data is processed, but to every colleague. After all, it is also about seemingly simpler matters such as the correct handling of contact details and not allowing strangers into the workplace. Obtaining the globally recognized ISO 27001 certification is the crowning glory of our work in this area and underlines that the trust that customers have placed in us for years is well-founded.”

Rebecca Ditchburn, Teamwork IMS:

“It was clear to us from the start of the project, that Nextens had a strong set of information security controls and a good level of information security awareness. However, through the implementation of an information security management framework, which is certified by a UKAS accredited organisation, Nextens now has a cohesive ISMS that enables them to monitor and measure their performance as the organisation and the information security threat landscape evolves, whilst continuing to drive further improvements.  It was great to work with such a dynamic and enthusiastic team, who were keen to ensure that information security was thoroughly embedded across the organisation.”
