After completing the assessment, suppliers will receive an “Evergreen Level” or sustainability maturity score against NHS priorities, which signposts their current position and pathway to progress.

Is the the NHS Evergreen Supplier Assessment mandatory?

The assessment can be completed by any supplier which provides or plans to provide goods or services to NHS England, integrated care boards, or an NHS trust in England.

For suppliers on existing NHS Supply Chain Frameworks submission of the Evergreen Assessment has been required since February 2024.
For all New NHS Supply Chain Frameworks Suppliers, you are now required to submit an Evergreen Assessment as part of the tendering process.
If you plan to win or retain NHS contracts in the future, you must be prepared to complete Evergreen as part of your sustainability reporting.
